We have already mentioned some of the advantages of a holiday home with a swimming pool in Italy. The main one is that you have all the comforts of home at your accommodation. You don't have to pack your things in the morning and leave for the beach or swimming pool, but simply walk through the garden doors to your private swimming pool in your swimwear.

This is ideal for a holiday with children. Your children can enjoy themselves in the pool all day long. But even if you are going on holiday as a couple, having your own pool is wonderful. It is the ultimate in relaxation.

Please note that some holiday homes have a shared pool. This is often the case with apartment complexes. Usually, you share the pool with five to fifteen other people. This is still very different from the scenes you see at campsites or hotels during the high season. Not every holiday home has a shared pool, by the way; this is always clearly stated when booking. And of course, we are happy to help you find the right accommodation.

Italy is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe. In that sense, you can never go wrong in the boot, except that all regions and places have their own appeal. Lovers of sun, sea and beach can choose between the Adriatic coast, the Mediterranean Sea and, last but not least, the northern Italian lakes.

Do you prefer mountain landscapes? In winter, you can enjoy excellent skiing, and in summer, you can enjoy an active holiday or pure tranquillity. Italy has some flat areas, but in general you don't have to look far to find mountains. There are the Alps and Dolomites in the north and west of the country. The beautifully rolling hills of Tuscany are slightly lower, but no less beautiful. Other well-known mountain ranges are the Apennines and Le Marche.

Italy has so much to offer. If you are near Florence, Rome, Milan or Venice, you can easily enjoy a wonderful day trip. Don't underestimate the smaller cities either. Verona is less well known, but in terms of beauty, it easily rivals the other four cities. Verona is close to Lake Garda and easily accessible.

In recent years, southern Italy has also become more popular. And that's a good thing, because the south has a lot to offer. The tip of the boot, Calabria, is located in the far south. The peaceful Puglia is also ideal for spending your holiday, as are Sicily and Sardinia.

The journey to your holiday home with swimming pool in Italy

In addition to booking your holiday home through us, we can also advise you on your journey if you wish. Italy is easily accessible by car, train or plane. All three options have their advantages.

• By car: many Dutch (and Belgian) people choose to travel by car. This is perfectly feasible. The motorways are excellent. However, you should take into account toll roads and heavy traffic during the summer months. Don't forget to stop regularly. Not so much to rest, but mainly to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. And take the time to eat and drink well. After all, it's your holiday!
• By plane: Italy has many large and smaller airports spread throughout the country. Flying is fast and with a fly-drive you can easily explore the country with your hire car.
• By train: want to relax on holiday and help the environment at the same time? Then the train is a good option. Although the journey can be long (more than 12 hours from the United Kingdom), the train connections within Italy are excellent. And you get to see a large part of the country right away.

Going on holiday with your pet in a holiday home in Italy? 

Most of our holiday homes in Italy allow you to bring a pet, usually one dog or cat. This is stated in the property details. If you wish to bring more than one pet, we will need to discuss this with the owner. Often, something can be arranged.
