Ine's vacation on the French Riviera

Last year, our colleague Ine spent her May vacation with her family in Saint-Aygulf, a charming seaside resort on the famous French Riviera. They stayed in vacation home F83.391 from Basic Travel, which was fully equipped for a relaxing stay. They enjoyed the charming villages, the occasional sunshine, and of course each other's company in peace and quiet. Curious about their experiences? Then read on!

Ine about her vacation:

'Our vacation on the Côte d'Azur during the May vacation 2024

During the May holidays of 2024, I took my family on a two-week trip to the beautiful Côte d'Azur. We stayed in a lovely vacation home in Saint Aygulf, which we finally reached after a long drive. The weather wasn't quite what we had hoped for, but that didn't dampen our spirits upon arrival.

Our children immediately ran through the house, from top to bottom, and of course we had to feel the pool with our feet.

We had come for the sun, but spring on the Côte d'Azur often does what it wants. Fortunately, that didn't spoil our holiday fun. Waking up every morning to a fantastic view made everything so much more beautiful. What a beautiful sight! For me, having grown up there myself, it was extra special to be able to experience nature and the Mediterranean Sea again.

On a rainy day, we decided to take a trip to Monaco. There we discovered the most beautiful aquarium we have ever seen, highly recommended! Afterwards, we enjoyed a bite to eat in a cozy restaurant in the charming streets of Monaco.

On sunny days, we made the most of the surroundings. We visited the market in Saint Aygulf for fresh groceries and drove to the beach at Port Grimaud, where the children could play while we enjoyed a bite to eat with our feet in the sand. We also visited Cannes, where we strolled along the famous La Croisette boulevard and ate delicious ice cream on the beach, a real holiday feeling. Of course, a trip to St. Tropez was a must; we crossed over by boat from Sainte-Maxime and returned later. In Sainte-Maxime, parking at the Bateaux Verts is ideal for such a boat trip.

We also took trips inland, such as to Roquebrune-sur-Argens, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner by the lake. And on the evenings we stayed at home, we often barbecued in the garden, with the sound of crickets in the background and a glass of rosé in hand, pure relaxation.

The Côte d'Azur is truly a place for young and old, there is so much to do! For those who love sun, sea, nature, and culture, this is definitely a must.
