iCal Synchronization
Never have double bookings again with iCal
iCal synchronization is a convenient way to automatically keep your accommodation’s availability calendars up to date across multiple platforms. Do you offer your accommodation on Basic Travel as well as, for example, on Booking.com or Airbnb? Then an iCal link ensures that when a reservation is made on one platform, the date is immediately blocked on the other platform. This prevents double bookings and keeps your availability current at all times.
More and more booking platforms support iCal synchronization. Check with the platform you use to see if this feature is available and how to set up the iCal connection.
Why use iCal?
An iCal connection is useful because:

Note: iCal links must be added on both platforms. This means you need to send us the link from other platforms and also enter our iCal link into the relevant platform to enable full synchronization.
Easily synchronize your availability with Basic Travel
At Basic Travel, it's easy to automatically keep your accommodation’s availability up to date. Simply email us your Basic Travel property number and the iCal link from the other platform. We’ll add the link to our system, and the availability data will be loaded automatically. Synchronization happens regularly, so you always have an up-to-date overview.
Would you like to receive our iCal link to use on another platform? Just send us an email, and you'll receive the correct link right away.
Note: You can link a maximum of 5 iCal links from other platforms on Basic Travel.
Synchronization with other platforms
Example 1: Booking.com
- Log in to the Booking.com Extranet
- Go to your property’s calendar
- Click on "Add calendar connection" to add Basic Travel’s iCal link
- Click on "Export calendar*" to copy your Booking.com iCal link. Send this link to Basic Travel

Example 2: Airbnb
- Log in to Airbnb and go to your property’s calendar
- Click on "Sync calendars"
- Choose "Link to another calendar" to copy your Airbnb iCal link. Send this link to Basic Travel
- To import Basic Travel’s iCal link, select the option "Import calendar to Google Calendar**"

Manage your availability without iCal
Do you rent out your property exclusively through Basic Travel or other platforms that do not use iCal? Then you can update your availability manually via our owner portal. More information about the owner portal and a step-by-step guide can be found here.
* What do we mean by exporting?
By exporting an iCal link, we mean that you send us the iCal link from another booking platform. Through this link, we can automatically see which dates are blocked due to bookings.
** What do we mean by importing?
Importing means we provide you with our iCal link. You add this link to the other booking platforms where you list your accommodation. This way, bookings made via Basic Travel are automatically blocked in all linked calendars.
