Home and location Fully freestanding house in a very quiet location on a large property with many chestnut trees. The house is close to the lovely village of Sénéchas in the middle of the magnificent, mountainous Cevenne region. The patio looks out over the chestnut orchard. You can use the large swimming pool belonging to the owners . In practice, this means you will have use of a nearly private pool, since the owners (a retired couple) only use it when no guests are present. The owners live in a separate house on an adjoining property, but their house is fully isolated from the holiday house. Both houses are located on large grounds with a total area of 6000m2. Sénéchas is north-west of the small town of Bessèges, where you can do all your shopping. You can also shop in Génolhac if you wish; it is closer but has fewer shops. There are many opportunities for walking and hiking in the surrounding area, and you can bathe in the river near the village. The region is a paradise for avid sports cyclists. You can make lots of outings here: to lovely villages in the Cevenne such as Génolhac, Saint-Ambroix, Villefort, and Anduze; the imposing Château de Portes; or the magnificent city of Uzès. The Gorges de l'Ardèche are somewhat further away, but certainly worth a visit. NB Lockable shed for bicycles, motorcycle ortrailer on request.
