Home and location Fully detached natural stone holiday house with a nice large private swimming pool near the village of Thédirac in the Lot. You have a beautiful view over the countryside with hills and forests. Thédirac is a quiet village, 24 km northwest of Cahors and 8 km from the pleasant village of Catus. The neat house, which is located on a large private plot of 5000 m2, has been furnished in a rustic style, with much use made of wood. At the front of the house is a lot of shade, because of the vegetation, which is very welcome during hot summer days. In the picturesque Thédirac there is a bakery, for the other groceries, but also for restaurants and cafes you can visit the nice town of Catus. There is a recreational lake at Catus, where you can swim and rent surfboards and pedal boats. It is also nice to take a canoe trip on the river Lot; at Luzech (approx. 15 km) you can rent canoes in the summer months. A visit to the lively city of Cahors is certainly worth the effort. In the historic center there are numerous restaurants, nice shops and intimate squares. The Pont Valentré and the Saint-Etienne cathedral are some of the most important sights of the city, almost entirely surrounded by the River Lot. The area around Cahors is of course also known for its wines, which you can taste at one of the numerous wine estates. A little further away, but definitely recommended, you can visit the high-altitude Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, which you can reach via a beautiful route along the Lot. A day trip to the Dordogne valley with its many castles and famous villages such as Domme and Beynac is also recommended. A few kilometers from the house, in Les Arques, is a museum dedicated to Ossip Zadkine, the sculptor who became famous in the Netherlands for the statue "The Destroyed City" in Rotterdam.
