Home and location Fully detached holiday house with heated private swimming pool halfway between Bergerac and Agen, 5 km from the village of Cancon in the pristine department of Lot-et-Garonne adjacent to the Dordogne. The location is wonderfully quiet in the middle of a hilly landscape with orchards, fields and fields of sunflowers, so characteristic of this region. There is plenty of space around the house, and whether you are sitting on one of the (covered) terraces or by the swimming pool, you have a beautiful view of the surroundings everywhere. The whole consists of a comfortable, spacious house and a separate small house located next to it (see layout!). Together they are fully furnished and in both cases both are at your disposal. The immediate surroundings invite you to go for long walks and bike rides and at only 6 km there is an 18-hole golf course at Castelnaud. Children will certainly like to go to the recreational lake at Lougratte (10 km), there is a beach and pedal boats are rented out. In addition to the sunflowers, the area is known for its numerous old fortresses (bastides) such as Monflanquin, Monpazier and Villeréal. You can also visit the impressive castle of Bonaguil or the Château de Monbazillac, where you can also taste delicious white wines. The cozy town of Villeneuve with picturesque houses along the River Lot and a 13th-century bridge over the river is not far and certainly worth a visit. A little further away but easily accessible is Bergerac, idyllically situated on the Dordogne river. You can admire the statue of Cyrano or visit the tobacco museum. For groceries and other facilities you can go to Cancon.
