Home and location Detached cottage for two people, within walking distance of the picturesque, medieval town of Stolberg, the "Pearl of the South Harz". The house is located just behind the owner's house, but you have access to a private terrace with garden furniture and sun loungers and the sloping grounds, where there are also seating areas, are shared with the owner. From the garden you have a magnificent view of the imposing castle of Stolberg, birthplace of Juliana van Stolberg, the mother of William of Orange. You can take beautiful walks right from your holiday address; there are about 90 km of marked trails around Stolberg, the circular walk high above the town (the Bandweg) is definitely recommended and you should not miss a walk to the largest iron cross in the world, the Josephskreuz on the Grosser Auerberg. There is no shortage of sights in the area; you can make trips to the Rappbodestausee, to the stalactite caves near Rübeland or take a trip by steam train from the beautiful Wernigerode to the highest point of the Harz Mountains, the Brocken (1140 m). Back in Stolberg you can relax in the modern, heated leisure pool "Thyragrotte" with sauna, solarium, whirlpool and restaurant. In the pleasant town with its many terraces, you will find all amenities at about 700 m from your holiday home.
