Home and location Detached small holiday home in the Ardèche near the village of Saint-Jean-de-Pourcharesse. The cozy wooden chalet (34 m2) is beautifully situated on a generous terrain and it has a half-covered terrace from which you have a wide view over the hills and mountains of the southern Ardèche. The unspoilt area with chestnut trees, small streams and rivers is very inviting for nature lovers. The characteristic houses with their slate roofs, often grouped in small hamlets, seem to merge with the beautiful landscape. Walkers will find numerous marked routes in the immediate vicinity. The river Sure rises not far from the village and you will find here and there a spot for paddling. It flows into the Chassezac river near Chambonas (14 km) where you can swim and rent canoes. The Chassezac cuts through the area with beautiful gorges and high rocks. The gorges of this river are much less known than the Gorges de l’Ardèche, but no less beautiful and impressive. A day trip to Vallon Pont’d’Arc (37 km) and the famous Gorges de l’Ardèche can also be done very well from your holiday home. In the pleasant town of Les Vans you can go for all your groceries and you will find cozy terraces and restaurants. Especially the large Saturday market is worth it. In Payzac, a village 9 km from your holiday home, there is a small supermarket with bread sales and there is a bar.
