Home and location This fully detached, architect-designed holiday house is beautifully situated on the side of a hill near the village of Pont-d'Ucel. From the spacious terrace you have a panoramic view over the valley of the Ardèche and on the opposite town of Aubenas. There are a few centuries-old olive trees on the 600 m2 site. Both the exterior and the interior are sleek and modern. Natural materials such as raw wood and bamboo have been used, a number of walls are made of raw concrete and the roof is covered with natural vegetation. The interior of the comfortable and energy-efficient house is partly equipped with designer furniture which, in combination with the large windows, creates a spacious and bright atmosphere. The location is ideal for exploring the Ardèche. The regional town of Aubenas with its impressive castle is only 3 km away. Especially on Saturday mornings, people come from far and wide for the weekly market. In July and August there is also a cozy market in the historic center on Wednesday evenings. The Ardèche river offers opportunities for swimming and canoeing in numerous places. There is a nice beach at Lavelade-sur-Ardèche (9 km) and you can rent canoes at Voguë (12 km). This picturesque village is worth a visit, as well as the high altitude Antraigues-sur-Volane and the nearby spa town of Vals-les-Bains. You can also make trips to the ancient Pont du Diable at Thueyts, the Gorges de l'Ardèche and to the Mont de Gerbier de Jonc, one of the oldest volcanoes in the region. For all basic services you can go to Saint-Privas (2.5 km), all other facilities can be found in Aubenas.
