Home and location Beautifully restored, stone cottage with a lovely terrace and a large enclosed courtyard, located in the tiny village of Saint-Etienne-d'Escattes, 22 km west of the city of Nîmes. The century-old, tastefully decorated house is a former station for coaches and dates back to the 18th century. It has very generous rooms and on the spacious landing is a nice playground for children with the necessary games. In the courtyard, opposite the entrance of the house, there is also a well-appointed studio for 2 persons with its own bathroom and kitchen. You can ber it through an outside staircase. You can park your car in the church square directly in front of the house. Most shopping can be done in Calvisson (6 km), all further amenities can be found in the lively Sommières on the river Vidourle where there are also many nice restaurants and terraces. There are excellent cycling and hiking opportunities in the immediate vicinity of the village. There is a beautiful 18-hole golf course at Nîmes at 21 km. From your holiday home you can explore a very varied area. Both the rugged mountain area of ??the Cévennes and the coast of the Mediterranean are easily accessible. At the foot of the Cévennes are characteristic villages such as Sauve, Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort and Anduze. The sandy beaches at La Grande Motte are within 37 km. A visit to the walled town of Aigues-Mortes with the impressive fortress towers is very worthwhile and can be combined with a trip through the Camargue. Both Montpellier and Nîmes are lively and worth seeing cities and both are not really missing on the program, as well as the famous Pont du Gard.
