Holiday home with plenty of privacy between the Lot and Dordogne rivers

Enjoy peace and wide-open nature in this completely detached holiday home for 6 people, with 3 bedrooms, a spacious terrace and a large lawn. The house is set on a beautiful 20-hectare estate, about 2 km from the charming village of Frayssinet-le-Gélat, right in the picturesque countryside between the Lot and Dordogne rivers. Here you’ll find tranquillity, space, and endless opportunities for walking, cycling or simply relaxing.

The house stands completely on its own, surrounded by nature and a few characterful outbuildings. You occupy the upper floor (the ground floor is not in use), accessible via an outdoor staircase. At the top of the stairs, there’s a cosy sitting area, and downstairs you’ll find a spacious terrace with dining table and comfortable chairs – a perfect spot to share a meal or enjoy the peaceful evenings under a starry sky.

Inside, the house is tastefully and practically furnished. One of the bedrooms is located in the charming little tower, giving the house a unique and authentic touch. Around the house stretches a large lawn of about 3000 m², ideal for children to play and for you to enjoy complete privacy.

The surrounding area offers countless opportunities for excursions: visit the picturesque riverside town of Puy-l’Évêque (11 km), the historic city of Cahors (32 km) with its famous bridge and wineries, the impressive castle of Bonaguil (20 km) or the lively market town of Gourdon (29 km). The lovely bastide village of Villefranche-du-Périgord (10 km) is also well worth a visit.

Just 1 km away you’ll find a recreational lake where you can swim and fish, and in Puy-l’Évêque you can rent canoes for a trip on the Lot. Frayssinet-le-Gélat has a few basic amenities, while larger shops can be found in Cazals (10 km) and Puy-l’Évêque (11 km). There’s also a riding school about 1 km from the house.

Vaak 100% stilte, S'nachts 100% donker (de Melkweg!), 100% privé, Prachtig authentiek huis; gezellige inventaris. Wifi prima. Paartje valken nestelde in een gat in de muur. (niet door en door natuurlijk) schuin boven de buitentrap. Enorm naar ons zin gehad. Prijs/kwaliteit (Mei 2022) een 10+. Leuke vlotte ontvangst door eigenaar. Ik raad dit huis ten zeerste aan. Een dikke merci aan de eigenaar, die naar verluid de inkomsten gebruikt om het huis verder te renoveren en onderhouden. Bonne chance!

Fantastisch huis lui! Hoogstwaarschijnlijk gaat dit ons beste huis ooit worden. Voor herhaling vatbaar. Wat voor ons ( pauvre pietons) zo geweldig was dat het huis aan de gr lag. ( grand route routiere) Wandelingen alom. te maken. En wat een uitzicht en een rust!

De bedden en de ruimte zijn prima, en de woning blijft ook bij 40 graden buiten redelijk koel. We hebben (met twee kinderen van 7 en 10) in de nabijgelegen recreatieplassen heerlijk kunnen zwemmen, en het natuurschoon is wonderbaarlijk: elke bocht in de weg levert een nieuw, oogstrelend vergezicht. Zeker aan te bevelen om te bezoeken zijn het plaatsje Les Arques, dat lijkt te hebben stilgestaan in de tijd (en het kleine maar zeer fijne Musée Zadkine daar) en het kasteel van Bonaguil, een enorme burcht uit de late Middeleeuwen. We hebben genoten van een vakantie in een heerlijk stil en afgelegen huis in een echt prachtige streek.

Volmaakte rust, bakker met perfecte chocoladetaart op 2 km afstand. Heerlijke veranda waar je ook kunt zitten als het regent. Gemoedelijk interieur en een goede cd speler. Ruime slaapkamers. En vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaar.

Fantastisch, vrijliggend, sfeervol, rustig, mooi huis met een mooie veranda en een zeer attente verhuurder. Voor kinderen misschien niet zo geschikt, voor rustzoekers zeer geschikt.

Huis is moeilijk te vinden. Ligt verscholen in de bossen. Goed kijken. Prachtig, oud huis met karakteristieke details, oud interieur. Heel veel ruimte en rust. Grote tuinen rondom het huis. Prachtige omgeving.

Das Haus ist sehr ländlich und eben auch entsprechend eingerichtet. Ich hatte damit kein Problem, anderen ist es vielleicht zu schlicht. Der Mieter hat das gesamte Gehöft für sich alleine, was aus der Beschreibung nicht so deutlich hervorgeht. Dringende Empfehlung: bei Erstbezug nach dem Winter eine Woche vorheizen lassen, sonst zieht man in einen Kühlschrank.
