Detached holiday home with heated private pool in the Périgord, on the border of Lot and Dordogne
Nestled on a beautiful private estate of no less than 1 hectare in the southern Périgord lies this fully detached holiday home with a heated private pool. The property is located just over 4 km from the village of Salviac, right on the border between the Lot and Dordogne departments, an ideal base for exploring this diverse and beloved region.
The owner has meticulously restored a former barn in the style of a traditional ‘séchoir’, the region's distinctive wooden tobacco-drying sheds. Using natural and sustainable materials, the building has been transformed into a spacious, light-filled, and very comfortable holiday residence boasting 250 m² of living space. It’s perfectly suited for two families and the ground floor is wheelchair-accessible.
From the house, you enjoy a beautiful, unobstructed view of the surrounding forests and fields. Walkers and cyclists will feel right at home: you can embark on scenic routes directly from the property through the rolling landscape. On request, three electric bikes are available (and outside July and August, possibly five depending on availability), as well as a child’s trailer.
The location offers a prime starting point for discovering the region. Visit the renowned medieval town of Sarlat, or explore charming spots such as Gourdon and Belvès. Other must-sees include the hilltop fortress town of Domme, the impressive pilgrimage site of Rocamadour, and the spectacular Gouffre de Padirac. The area also boasts many castles, including those of Bonaguil, Beynac, Montfort, and Castelnaud, plus a canoe trip down the Dordogne River is highly recommended.
For daily groceries and a selection of good restaurants, the village of Salviac is nearby. Golfers can enjoy a course about 25 km away in Siorac.
