Holiday house in Vauvenargues with pool, in Provence-Côte d'Azur

Holiday house with private swimming pool in the lovely village of Vauvenargues, 14 km east of Aix-en-Provence. The house is in the middle of the pleasant village with a few restaurants, a grocery and a bar-tabac. The entrance is on the street side, at the rear the house has a small garden, a beautiful terrace and a nice swimming pool with counter current. You have a wonderful view of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire, immortalized numerous times by the painter Cézanne. You also overlook the Vauvenargues Château where Pablo Picasso lived and worked. He and his wife are buried in the park of the castle. The colorful village house decorated with artistic objects is less suitable for small children and people who have difficulty walking, because the stairs to the first floor are quite steep. You can park in a street a little further (100 m) or in a parking lot at the end of the village at 200 m. There are plenty of walking possibilities in the area; around the Montagne Sainte-Victoire and at the Barrage de Bimont. The location of the holiday home is ideal for visiting the cities of Aix-en-Provence and Marseille. In Aix you can stroll along the Boulevard Mirabeau and Marseille also has a lot to offer: in addition to the beautiful old center and the 'Vieux Port', the waterfront museum MuCEM is more than worth a visit. A trip to attractive seaside resorts such as La Ciotat, Bandol, Sanary and Cassis is definitely recommended. From Cassis you can visit the beautiful 'Calanques' (coves) with a tour boat. N.B. There is 1 cat staying at the house, but she hardly ever comes in.
