I am Alessia, an Italian with a great passion for languages and travel. I was born in Ancona (on the coast in the centre of Italy) and grew up in the beautiful Dolomites. When I was 4 years old, I started learning German in primary school and by 10 I started learning English. At 11, I went to Germany for my first study trip and very soon I started to enjoy learning languages.
I really enjoy being able to speak to people from other countries and cultures. When I was 13, I started the language grammar school and learned French as well, in addition to German and English. I then studied economics in Italy and Germany, specialising in international relations. It was very clear to me that I wanted to use my passion for languages in my work. I have therefore always worked in export and international sales. In 2009, I moved from Germany to the Netherlands and naturally learned the Dutch language.

Loves: sharing the most beautiful travel images
Hi my name is Rika, travel enthousiast and part of the Basic Travel team.
When I boarded the plane with my parents for my first city trip to London at 14, I knew it right away: travelling is really my thing! From the anticipation of packing your suitcase, waiting at the airport for your gate to appear on the big screens, to the moment before take-off where the adrenaline rushes through your body and your new adventure is about to begin; I love it and want to experience it again and again. So I started capturing all the unforgettable moments on film and now, over 7 years and many trips later, I have made several travel videos and can go back to all these beautiful memories.
So, with my enthusiasm for travelling, the choice of studying Tourism Management was easily made. The study trips to different destinations in Europe were really a plus, for example, in the first year I already went to the cold Krakow in Poland! Besides the trips and friends I made during my time at university, I could really indulge in writing travel stories and picking out beautiful images.
For Creating Stories and Basic Travel, I can now also put my own spin on my work and get creative with all the unique destinations and holiday rentals. Whether on the website, via the social media channels, in a newsletter or in a brainstorm for a new concept, nothing is too crazy. I like to share all the news with you, on images or with a written story, about this company and of course our beautiful trips!
'BESIDES SHARING BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS OF OTHERS, I RECENTLY STARTED TAKING PHOTOS MYSELF. AFTER BUYING MY CANON, A NEW WORLD OPENED UP FOR ME'
Besides sharing beautiful photos of others, I recently started taking photos myself. I was already doing this with my phone, but after buying my Canon, a new world opened up for me with all the new possibilities within photography. So I hope I can also go out and capture the most beautiful images for Creating Stories and Basic Travel and show them off. This is bound to happen, because all those unique travel destinations are within reach with both brands!

FINANCIËLE ADMINISTRATIE
Kan geen genoeg krijgen van: Amerika
Van kinds af aan ging ik met mijn familie om de zomer naar Orlando in Amerika. Hier bezochten we elk attractiepark dat Florida te bieden heeft. Ik kreeg een kick van de snelle achtbanen, de prachtige decorstukken, de grandioze parades en het vuurwerk. Ik genoot van het winkelen in enorme winkelcentra en ik kon uren rondlopen en al mijn geld uitgeven in Walmart, waar ze daadwerkelijk alles verkopen. Ook biedt Florida prachtige natuur: we gingen geregeld met een airboat de Everglades in om alligators te spotten, kanoën tussen de zeekoeien in Crystal River of zwemmen bij Daytona Beach of Fort Lauderdale.
Inmiddels is mijn reislust uitgebreid naar andere prachtige bestemmingen op de wereld, zoals Curacao, Griekenland en Italië. Mijn wishlist van plaatsen die ik nog wil bezoeken, groeit met de dag. Bovenaan de lijst staan de Malediven, Bali en Santorini.
Dat ik bij een Creating Stories en Basic Travel ben gaan werken, verbaasde dan ook niemand. Hier kan ik mijn opleiding tot bedrijfsadministrateur en mijn fascinatie voor cijfers combineren met mijn reislust en mijn drang om de wereld te ontdekken.

Her great love: France
Hi, my name is Ine and I am part of the Basic Travel team, mainly occupied with our French holiday homes. I was born in Flemish Belgium, but grew up in the south of France, which is why I know a lot about the French regions and speak fluent French and Flemish.
I have already seen a lot in the world, but still want to discover so much. I often go out with my family, I love roadtripping. When I was a child, I went touring with my parents, brothers and sister in a motorhome. We travelled through France, Austria, Switzerland and Italy during the summer holidays. This trip has always stayed with me. So on my bucket list is to do the same with my husband and children, but in Canada.
'I HAVE ALREADY SEEN A LOT IN THE WORLD, BUT STILL WANT TO DISCOVER SO MUCH.’
Facts about me:
- I really am an adventurer; when I was 16, I told my mother I wanted to go to India and at 21, I made that dream come true. I went backpacking there for a month. The next year I wanted to go again, then I left for Africa alone for a few months, not knowing anyone there, which was really an adventure!
- I love helping people and have been volunteering for years in the Netherlands and abroad
- I like organising, at work and in my spare time
- I worked in retail for years and liked the contact with the varity of people the most. Now I get to expand Basic Travel together with my colleagues. This is where my customer focus comes in
- I love the sun, the sea and the beaches, but a winter resort where you can ski and eat cheese fondue is also my favourite holiday!

In september 2022 begonnen we aan een nieuwe uitdaging met de overname van Basic Travel. Een heel andere tak van sport als onze maatwerkreizen bij Creating Stories, dat maakte het voor mij extra leuk! Ik werk sinds 2010 voor het overkoepelende bedrijf en ben verantwoordelijk voor de boekhouding en bijbehorende administraties van zowel Creating Stories als Basic Travel. Met inmiddels een nieuwe website en een nieuw boekingssysteem hebben we al best wat uitdagingen overleefd en hopen we nog meer reizigers een fijne vakantie te kunnen bezorgen in één van onze ruim 600 vakantiewoningen!

Haar grote favorieten: Italië en Zwitserland
Hi! Ik ben Islem, 21 jaar en momenteel zit ik in mijn laatste jaar van de opleiding Tourism Management aan Inholland Rotterdam. Ik vind het ontzettend leuk om stage te mogen lopen bij Basic Travel en Creating Stories. Ik kijk er enorm naar uit om hier mijn kennis in de praktijk te brengen en mezelf verder te ontwikkelen binnen de wereld van toerisme en contentcreatie.
In mijn vrije tijd ben ik vaak met vriendinnen op stap, aan het shoppen of ben ik te vinden in een gezellig cafeetje met een iced mango matcha met kokosmelk in mijn hand, mijn ‘’gezonde’’ verslaving ;). Ik ben dol op sfeervolle plekjes en ontdek graag nieuwe hotspots, of dat nu in Rotterdam is of ver daarbuiten.
Reizen is echt mijn grootste passie en mijn droom is altijd geweest om een wereldreis te maken. Al vanaf jonge leeftijd maak ik roadtrips door Europa met mijn ouders; Italië en Zwitserland zijn vaste favorieten. Wat reizen voor mij zo bijzonder maakt, is het ontdekken van nieuwe culturen, het ontmoeten van nieuwe mensen en het vastleggen van al die mooie momenten. Ik wil altijd weer thuiskomen met genoeg foto’s en video’s op zak.
Tot nu toe is Lake Como mijn favoriete bestemming. Het voelt alsof je een sprookje binnenstapt. Ook Milaan heeft een speciaal plekje in mijn hart: dé fashionstad waar ik als modeliefhebber volop inspiratie opdoe. Bovenaan mijn bucketlist staan nog Zanzibar en New York. Hopelijk kan ik na mijn studie die droom waarmaken.
