ACCOMMODATION AND LOCATION THE HOLIDAY PARK Holidaypark Am Waldsee is beautifully located on the edge of the university town and former mining town of Claustal-Zellerfeld. The park was set up on the shore of a small lake, the Waldsee. It is situated in the middle of the mountains of the Harz, with peaks up to 1000 metres. In wintertime skiing and cross country skiing can be practised. In the summer fine walks and cycling trips can be made. One of the most beautiful villages in the area is Goslar where many historical buildings have been preserved. On one of them there's a clock where scenes of the villages' mining history are shown. Other visits can be made to Wernigerode with its fourteenth century half timbered houses and to the health resort of Bad Harzburg. FACILITIES Reception, bar/restaurant , bicycle renting, ski renting. Walking maps at the reception. Swimming in the Waldsee is possible (there's a small shallow section for children), there's no real beach. Rowing boats can be brought along, motorboats not allowed. In Clausthal Zellerfeld there are shops and supermarkets at walking distance, tennis court, skating track, indoor pool.Fishing on the lake. Cross country skiing directly from the holiday park. ACCOMMODATIONS The holidaypark consists of ca 60 bungalows. Not all of them can be rented. There are two types of bungalows: the nurdachhaus (60 m2) and the Kaminhaus (55 m2). Basic travel offers both. All bungalows are equipped with a kitchen with refridgerator, an oven, a coffee maker, cable TV, a radio and gas heating. Cars can be parked close to the bungalows; loading and unloading at the bungalow. There are a few larger bungalows that sleeps seven. All bungalows have private owners, therefore the interior of the house may differ. Detached bungalow that sleeps 5 persons.
