ACCOMMODATION AND LOCATION Detached villa with a nice shady yard and a large private swimming pool. The terrace and the swimming pool have a beautiful view over the vineyards, the hills of the ‘Dentelles de Montmirail’ and the villages of Sablet and Gigondas. This spacious house is furnished in modern and tasteful style, has one bedroom on the ground floor and 3 on the top floor. The swimming pool will be covered by a roof in the period before 3/5 and the period after 13/9, which allows a higher water temperature than in a regular swimming pool, a great advantage for the Fall and the Spring. The residence is located less than 2 km from the village of Violès and halfway between the beautiful villages of Cairanne and Vacqueyras, on the D8. This is the region of Côtes du Rhone, where many good wines come from. You can taste the wines at the many Châteaux around or even take with you a Muscat de Beaumes de Venise, a heavenly aperitif. Violès is east of the lovely city of Orange, where monument lovers can indulge in the triumphal arch and the amphitheatre from roman times. There are many possibilities for excursions to nice villages like Gigondas, Beaumes de Venise, Rasteau, Bédoin, Malaucène, Nyons and Caromb, to the beautiful cities of Orange, Avignon and Uzès, to the convivial Isle sur la Sorque and the beautiful mountain range of Luberon with its breathtaking villages and landscapes. As an excursion, Vaison la Romaine is an absolute must see with its beautiful medieval part and numerous Roman relics. A drive to the unequalled Gorges de l’Ardèche is also possible. Thanks to the central location of Orange next to the highway junction to Provence and the Languedoc on either side of the Rhone, it is very easy to visit the latter region with beautiful cities like Nîmes and Uzès, and especially the famous Pont du Gard, the marvellous aqueduct from Roman times. Bicycle fanatics will greatly enjoy climbing the famous Mont Ventoux, well known from the Tour de France. Hiking amateurs can have a treat at the Dentelles de Montmirail, Rasteau and Mont Ventoux.
