ACCOMMODATION AND LOCATION Fully detached chalet on a private plot of land (1,500 m2) in a quiet setting in the beautiful deserted Bouchot valley on the outskirts of the village of Rochesson. From the south facing terrace there is a fantastic view over the valley and the Noiregoutte forest opposite. Everywhere around the house there are nice places to sit and the walking trails start right behind the house... In the nearby pleasant town of Gérardmer (10 km) you can participate in lots of different water sports on the lake: canoeing, rowing, sailing, diving; and for smaller children, there is a wonderful (supervised) beach with playing equipment. From Rochesson it is also possible to take a trip to the picturesque Alsace wine villages (Riquewihr, Kaysersberg etc.) via the Col de la Schlucht. In winter the house is only a few kilometres from all types of skiing at Les Truches and for even more winter sports fun in less than half hour you can be on the slopes at the well-known La Bresse ski resort. In Rochesson there is a bakery and a restaurant. All other amenities can be found in Vagney (6 km) and in Gerardmer (10 km). THE COLS OF THE VOSGES In the Vosges the sporting cyclist can enjoy him/herself and test his or her form. Within a small area east of Gérardmer you will find a number of beautiful and famous cols, like the Col de la Schlucht (17 km long, 1.100 m high), the Markstein (20 km long, 1.200 m high), the Petit Ballon (12 km long, 1.150 m high) and the Grand Ballon (13 km long, 1.350 m high). The beautiful, green landscapes and the beautiful views together with the smooth, not very steep cols cause this area to be a wonderful challenge for every sporting cyclist.
