ACCOMMODATION AND LOCATION Beautifully restored old natural stone farmhouse with private pool, sauna and large enclosed garden, located in the middle of the picturesque hamlet of Gros. Gros is a lovely authentic hamlet with 50 inhabitants, with only natural stone houses and small alleys, set in the midst of outstanding natural beauty. A spot where time seems to have stood still. Gros is 900 metres above sea level on the south-east coast of the lovely department of Cantal, about 5 km south of Neuvéglise and about 20 km south-west of the attractive town of Saint-Flour. This place is a paradise for those looking for peace and quiet. You have absolute privacy in the pool and the garden and in the area there are lots of possibilities for taking walks. For most of your groceries you can go directly to Neuvéglise. In the area there are a couple of lovely reservoirs on the Truyère River. There is also a nice spot at the Chateau dÁlleuze. Lovely places worth visiting are Saint-Flour, Chaudes Aigues (a health resort with the hottest natural springs in Europe, with a water temperature of 82C), Murat, Aurillac and Salers. There are mountains throughout this lovely department with the highest peaks those of the Plomb du Cantal (1855 m) and the Puy Mary. PLEASE NOTE: some of the photos are slightly old and show an unrestricted view from the house and the pool. In fact, nowadays, the vegetation is much thicker and higher to offer more privacy. Included in the rental is 250 kWh of electricity. This is more than enough for normal usage. If you use the pool heating (and also the sauna) it is possible to exceed this amount.
