ACCOMMODATION AND LOCATION What was once a farm situated in a small village between Houffalize and Baraque de Fraiture 2 km from shops and restaurants. This is a typical building from the High Ardennes, with slate walls, beams, oak floors and doors, a solid building with small windows. This traditional house has a new look thanks to the use of modern and sometimes bold colours. The garden and terrace are adjacent to a small wild forest, a wonderful playground for (older) children. The house is on the Plateau des Tailles, about 600 m above sea level. Some of the land around here is covered with peat and considered a nature reserve. Houffalize is south of this plateau, in the Ourthe valley. Between the valleys and plateaus there are some lovely signposted walking tracks. This makes it an ideal spot for walkers and (experienced) cyclists. Walkers will find rough and hilly landscape dominated by conifers in the upper reaches of the river. The region is also characterized by picturesque villages, where the main building material is slate. Tavigny is thought to be one of the most attractive villages in Wallonia. In the village you will find: a castle, albeit a ruin, but in the middle of Houffalize. Also here you are close to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg: Clervaux with its abbey and castle is just half an hour away.
