ACCOMMODATION AND LOCATION This authentic 18th century mansion is situated in a small village less than 15 miles from Dinant, Hastière and Beauraing and in the vicinity of the valleys of the Meuse and the Lesse. There are tourist attractions within a very short distance. The source of the Lesse, cruises on the Meuse and the citadel of Dinant are well known. Between the Meuse and Lesse there is extensive area of natural beauty for hiking with open plateaus interspersed with steep wooded valleys and some impressive rocks. Over the centuries this strategically located region has been dotted with castles and fortresses such as the castles of Vives and Freyr. The church authorities were also busy in this region as can be seen from the Romanesque churches in Celles and Hastière. The waters of the Lesse that originate in the massive limestone of the region offer a subterranean world with numerous caves and caverns to explore in the National Park of Furfooz. Among the various picturesque villages that could come under the label "One of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia" there are 4 in a radius of about 20 kilometres: Celles, Sosoye, Soulme and Falaën. A thorough renovation was completed in June 2008 and transformed this centuries-old mansion into a luxury holiday home. The layout of the rooms was completely revised. The various rooms on the ground floor are interconnected. Small intimate lounges, large living rooms with a cosy fireplace and a cosy bar give every guest the opportunity to feel at home. The dining room has been furnished to accommodate a large dinner party. The kitchen is professionally equipped and a delight to the eye. On the first floor there are 8 bedrooms in total, each with two box spring beds and private bathroom. The number of persons that can be accommodated is supplemented by two large sleeping areas with 4 and 6 beds respectively (also box spring) in the impressive attic. These rooms also have their own bathing facilities. In this beautiful authentic attic there is also an area for recreation (pool table) or meetings. The staircase, fireplace, woodwork and other elements typical of houses in the region are well presented. There is a large private garden around the house.
