The garden is very suitable for children with a nice view over the woods and the pastures, thanks to its location. Many hikes can be started from the house. Ferrières is at the edge of the High Ardennes, about 45 km south of Liège. It is a nice village with a beautiful square, surrounded by high trees and with busy terraces. Around the village, the wooded hills and some small hamlets make for outstanding hikes. Up until the 17th century, the valley was full of craftsmen forges with remnants left here and there.
